Meet The Founder

If you had met me a few years ago, BOYO probably wouldn't have seemed possible.

Like many people, I spent years searching for who I was. I made mistakes. I lost direction. I battled with addiction, self-doubt, and the consequences of my own decisions. There were times in my life when I genuinely couldn't see a future worth building.

I know what it feels like to feel lost.

I know what it feels like to believe you've gone too far down the wrong path.

I know what it feels like to sit with your own thoughts and wonder whether things will ever get better.

My journey wasn't a straight line.

It included struggles with addiction, periods of darkness, and eventually a prison sentence that forced me to stop running from myself.

Ironically, prison became one of the places where I started finding myself.

For the first time in years, I had nowhere to hide.

No distractions.

No excuses.

Just me and my own thoughts.

It was during that time that I discovered writing.

What started as a way of processing my thoughts eventually became a passion. Writing allowed me to understand myself better. It gave me a way to make sense of experiences that had once felt impossible to explain.

Since leaving prison and beginning my recovery journey in 2020, my life has changed in ways I never thought possible.

I've written and published books.

I've rebuilt relationships.

I've started businesses.

I've learned to take responsibility for my future.

Most importantly, I've learned that self-belief isn't something you're born with.

It's something you build.

One decision at a time.

One day at a time.

One setback at a time.

That lesson became the foundation of BOYO.

BOYO stands for Brilliant On Your Own.

People often misunderstand that phrase.

It doesn't mean you should isolate yourself from the world.

It doesn't mean you don't need support.

It doesn't mean you have to do everything alone.

It means understanding your value regardless of who stays, who leaves, who supports you, or who doubts you.

Because the truth is that there will be moments in life where nobody can save you.

Nobody can make the difficult choices for you.

Nobody can put in the work for you.

Those moments require you to trust yourself.

To back yourself.

To believe in yourself before anyone else does.

That mindset helped me rebuild my life.

It's the same mindset I hope BOYO can inspire in others.

This brand isn't about pretending life is easy.

It's about recognising that growth often comes from the hardest experiences.

It's about self-expression.

It's about resilience.

It's about men's mental health.

It's about learning that your past does not have to define your future.

Most of all, it's about understanding that regardless of what you've been through, what mistakes you've made, or how far behind you think you are, you still have the ability to build something better.

BOYO is more than clothing.

It's a reminder.

A reminder that your story isn't over.

A reminder that you are capable of change.

A reminder that there is strength in standing on your own two feet.

Because in the end, and in the beginning, the relationship you have with yourself is the one that matters most.

Be Brilliant On Your Own.
