Why Self-Belief Changes Everything
Share
Most people spend their lives waiting.
Waiting until they feel confident.
Waiting until they have enough money.
Waiting until they have enough experience.
Waiting until somebody gives them permission.
The problem is that confidence rarely comes before action.
Confidence is often the result of action.
When I look back on the biggest changes in my life, none of them happened because I suddenly became fearless.
They happened because I moved forward despite being afraid.
I didn't start writing because I believed I was an author.
I started writing because I needed an outlet.
I didn't build businesses because I knew they would succeed.
I built them because I wanted a better future than the one I was heading towards.
I didn't change my life because I felt ready.
I changed it because I reached a point where staying the same became more painful than trying something different.
Many people believe self-belief is something you're born with.
I don't.
I think self-belief is built.
It's built every time you keep a promise to yourself.
It's built every time you continue after a setback.
It's built every time you choose growth over comfort.
The reality is that most people will never fully believe in themselves before they begin.
The belief comes afterwards.
The belief comes from proving to yourself that you can handle difficult things.
That you can survive setbacks.
That you can keep moving forward when life doesn't go to plan.
The reason BOYO exists is because I know what it feels like to lose belief in yourself.
I also know what it feels like to slowly rebuild it.
One decision.
One day.
One step at a time.
If there's one thing I've learned, it's this:
Your future doesn't depend on whether everyone else believes in you.
It depends on whether you're willing to keep going long enough to believe in yourself.
Be Brilliant On Your Own.
